THE ORACLE

In a thicket of flowing energy, mystery and colour, she is hidden: the Oracle.

What does she see in the waves of time,
what does she hear in the murmur of eternity?

Her knowledge passes through reality…
Are we ready to face what she reveals?

Does it not take courage to look destiny in the eye…?

The oracle often symbolises access to mysterious knowledge, out of reach for most people.

It is seen as a source of wisdom that passes through the veil of present, future and past.

It reveals the destiny of individuals or of whole generations.

Always surrounded by an aura of mystery.

It is sometimes seen as a medium between the human world and the divine.

In ancient Greece, oracles such as the one at Delphi were considered direct links to the gods.

The oracle is also a symbol of vision: the ability to see the future or hidden realities.

It is portrayed as “someone” or “something” able to see more than others, often calling up images beyond the reach of the senses.

In art and literature the oracle often becomes a way of exploring the human condition, the fear of the unknown and the inherent need to understand one’s place in the world and in the future.
