Beata Wiśniewska-Kowalewska
Polish painter, listed artist. Lives and paints in Vix, in the Vendée.
My painting is born of silence.
She does not try to depict the world, but what stays hidden beneath its surface: light, movement, memory, longing. Before the canvas there is no perfect form to reach, only one question: is it true?
Every painting is an encounter, sometimes silent, sometimes deeply moving, with something hard to name but recognised by the heart.

A haptic painting
The light is not laid on top. It seems to come from within the paint itself.
Layers, transparencies, shifts of tone: a surface the eye can almost touch. From ethereal blues towards magenta, a transformation both formal and inner. A slow painting, close to slow art, whose meaning unfolds little by little and offers a space of calm to those who take the time to look.
On the art market
Though the works now find their place on the international scene, their essential encounter still happens here, in the silence of the studio.
